Zagreb Knockout Tournament: June 4-6, 2010.

This year’s Men’s Knockout tournament took place under ideal weather conditions at the beautiful Jarun softball sports facilities in Zagreb. Competing along with the local host team Princ, 7 other teams from Slovakia (1), Italy (2), Slovenia (1), France (1), Croatia (1) and Switzerland (1) were present for this truly international tournament. 

Games began Friday afternoon and evening and continued thru the weekend until the championship game on Sunday afternoon. With 2 groups of 4 teams each, all teams were assured at least 4 games over the course of the tournament. Some teams got to play 6 games!

As it turned out, Princ and the DieHards once again met in the championship final which had to be settled in a tiebreaker. In the end, Princ came out on top thanks to a couple of timely homeruns to ice the victory with a 4-3 decision and take the trophy. Best player by the opionion of the whole teams was Reg Martin called Magic (67 years old pitcher who pitched final game for Die Hards). This is how we once again celebrated world softball day.
